Let’s move in together!

Living together, growing old together

„We laugh a lot, we do a lot together, I’m dancing, I’m doing Qi Gong, that literature meeting. It’s so much alive!“ says Marieluise Bitter, living in the Beginenhof in Berlin. “Here everybody helps the others, so you can get really old, like 93, 94”, says Anne Demérus from Färdknäppen house in Stockholm, and her husband Per adds: “Even 100!”.

But living together is not so easy, as Les ToitMoiNous in Villeneuve d’Ascq know after a few years of struggle for their communal house: “We thought we were a small group of people who wanted to build their house together and decide together, but that was a complete utopia“, says former journalist Régis Verley who tried to set up a transgenerational co-housing project in northern France.

Discover those projects in the second part of our documentary series The best is yet to come in ARTE on April 15th!
